Course Purpose

This course teaches students how to use the RSView Studio software to generate Supervisory Edition projects for process control. All aspects of the RSView Studio development software are presented, followed by interactive “hands-on” lab assignments emphasizing application of the concepts in an industrial setting.

· Configure communication Channels and Nodes
· Configure Direct Referencing of data points and OPC browsing
· Demonstrate Distributed Server support and Remote Configuration
· Discuss Data Server redundancy
· Create Graphical Displays including objects such as buttons, indicators, gauges, navigation control and drawing objects with animation
· Configure Alarming
· Configure Data Logging
· Configure real-time and historical Trending
· Configure Activity Logging
· Configure Security
· Use Active X controls
· Configure Display Code (client-side) VBA

Who Should Attend

This course is intended for plant engineers, control specialists, technicians, and other individuals who need to understand the fundamental concepts of creating highly functional HMI applications for local or distributed processes.

Prerequisites

Students should have experience with Microsoft operating systems, especially navigating to find files and folders. Experience with industrial control application and programmable logic controllers is recommended, but not mandatory.
